As we always say: “can excellence be accorded with environmental friendliness? Luxury and green-thinking? It is, indeed, possible. What could be more exclusive than something that, as well as being fabulous and unique, respects the environment throughout its manufacturing processes? This, for example, is what encouraged us to create and use the hashtag #SaturdayRecycling on our Social profiles and on our blog. Anybody who has green ideas over the weekend can post something of their own or something borrowed from the Web that has inspired them and might inspire others. Or you can tell us some names and we’ll go to browse and study to evaluate the hypothesis of talking about it on our blog. A nice idea, do not you think? So, if you are passionate about the environment and like to “do your bit” whenever possible, choosing an artist, a designer, a company, an event, etc., with a green soul: talk about it”.
This time we will talk about RAFTIDEDA: two brothers, Tiziano and Davide Illiano who create lamps, vases, candle holders and furnishing accessories, using poor and recycled materials, such as earthenware, plaster, stones, hemp ropes or small pieces of wood or driftwood. Below you will find a brief presentation of Tiziano and the Gallery, where you can admire the beauty of their works.

“My name is Tiziano Illiano, I’m a painter from Florence, now moved to La Spezia. My passion for art and nature and, more than that, my bond (relationship) with the sea, brought my painting technique toward the research of recycled material, on which I paint. The wood! Noble material, so important, vivid, full of experience if found on a beach! It has the capability to pass (communicate, transfer) the experience of the dipicted image, making it real. Reclaimed wood is a source of fresh new emotions. The sensitiveness of understanding that a piece, useless for someone, actually is a perfect support for a small journey into the painting art, is absolutely awesome.
RAFTIDEDA: where the artwork brings to life cetaceans, fishes, landscapes, monuments, many feelings. My lab in La Spezia is my den. I accumulate and preserve pieces of wood that will shortly come back to life. The marine representations are a journey underneath the sea surface. The monuments are glimpsed from a perennial urban light shine. We all have the chance to learn how to respect our small Planet. We all have to do it. We can all join together for the first time in the history of humanity, looking to the same direction. Glimpses of light” www.raftideda.it
