Agata Boetti, presentation IL GIOCO DELL'ARTE con mio padre Alighiero
A few years ago, while reading something about the life of a few stylists and textile producers, a phrase got stuck in my head, that sounded something like this “… for the color combinations he must have gotten inspired by Alighieri Boetti, always a source of inspiration…” And I though: “Who is He? Perhaps and up and coming stylist”
Needless to say I did my homework and the whole thing makes me laugh to this day, knowing how deeply ignorant I was.

Alighiero Boetti was an Italian artist that through his painting and work… did write a very important chapter of Italian art history.
Some of his arazzi are really beautiful and it’s not so hard to understand why fashion designers and textile manufacturers would not get inspired by his work.

Today the book written by his daughter Agata, titles “IL GIOCO DELL’ARTE con mio padre, Alighiero” was officially presented (published by Mondadori Electa).

By the way… don’t think this is your typical arts book with so much philosophy that could get you yarning from the intro. Nothing at all. It’s about true life. A father narrated by his daughter. A mother telling her kids about their grandfather.

Like I said, there was a book signing/presentation. Where? At a Concept Store in Milan by the name of  “NonostanteMarras” and owned by stylist Antonio Marras.
Created out of an old workshop, hosting his man and woman collection, but that often accommodates various cultural and art related events.

A wonderful location, filled with antique furniture and retro’ type chairs. In the middle of it, right in line with my passion for the “creative recycled”, there is a great bookcase, filled with wooden drawers from a needle factory in the region of Biella. A place that at night time could transform into an after work bar, or to present a book.

Of course I could not resist but take some photos!
